A review is only useful if you can trust it. Here is how TaskerAsker protects the integrity of every star rating and written review on the platform.

Only verified hires can review

You can only leave a review for a tradie if you hired them through TaskerAsker and the job is marked complete. We do not accept reviews from off-platform jobs, and we do not allow tradies to review themselves through second accounts.

No incentivised or paid reviews

Tradies cannot pay TaskerAsker for better placement, cannot pay customers for reviews, and cannot offer discounts in exchange for a five-star rating. Any provider found doing so is removed from the platform.

Right of reply, not right to delete

Tradies can publicly respond to any review on their profile, but they cannot have a genuine review removed. We only remove reviews that breach the law (for example defamation, personal information) or violate our community standards.

Disputed reviews

If a tradie believes a review is fake, malicious or factually incorrect, they can flag it. Our team reviews the messaging thread, payment record and any supporting evidence before deciding. Decisions are explained to both parties in writing.

How ratings are calculated

Profile star ratings are an unweighted average of all verified reviews from the past 24 months. We do not boost ratings for paid plans, length of membership or geography.

What to check before you sign a quote for trust and safety on TaskerAsker

Licence number visible on the quote — for regulated trades, the licence must be issued by the relevant state authority (NSW Fair Trading, VBA, QBCC, WA Building Commission, Consumer and Business Services SA, Access Canberra, CBOS or the NT Building Practitioners Board) and current on the date of the work.
Public liability insurance — at least $5,000,000 for residential work; ask for the certificate of currency if the quote is over a few thousand dollars.
