TaskerAsker Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy explains what is and is not allowed when posting tasks, sending messages, leaving reviews and otherwise using the TaskerAsker Australian home-services marketplace. It applies to every account on the platform — homeowners, tradies, service businesses and visitors browsing without an account — and forms part of our Terms of Service.

What you can use TaskerAsker for

TaskerAsker exists to help Australians find verified local tradies and to help those tradies find good-quality work in their service area. Posting genuine residential and small-commercial jobs, replying with itemised quotes, exchanging messages about scope, scheduling and access, paying through the platform and leaving honest reviews after a completed hire are all in scope and encouraged.

Content you must not post

Anything illegal under Australian law — including content that is defamatory, misleading and deceptive, threatens violence, infringes intellectual property, or involves modern slavery, child exploitation or incitement to harm.
Personal information that is not yours to share — phone numbers, addresses, photos or identity documents belonging to other people, without their clear consent.
Health, financial or legal advice dressed up as a job post. We are a marketplace for trades work, not a substitute for licensed professionals in those fields.
Spam, scraping or automated activity — bulk identical posts, scraping the directory, or any automated traffic that is not explicitly permitted by us in writing.
Misrepresentation — pretending to be a tradie you are not, posting a job that is actually a sales pitch, or impersonating TaskerAsker staff.

Conduct in messages and on site

We expect everyone on the platform to communicate respectfully — in writing inside messaging threads, on the phone, on site and in reviews. Harassment, discrimination on protected attributes, threats, racial slurs and intimidation are grounds for immediate suspension. Tradies have a right to a safe worksite; customers have a right to a tradie who turns up sober, on time, and behaves professionally in their home.

Reviews and ratings

Reviews must come from genuine, completed jobs. Buying, selling, trading or incentivising reviews is prohibited. Tradies cannot review themselves through second accounts, and customers cannot leave a review for a job that did not happen. Disputed reviews are investigated against the messaging history and payment record before any change is made.

Off-platform contact and payments

Once a customer and tradie have been introduced through TaskerAsker, tradies must not pressure customers to communicate or pay off-platform to avoid review and protection systems. Doing so removes the customer's milestone protection and is grounds for removal.

What happens if you breach this policy

We may remove offending content, restrict account features, suspend or permanently ban an account, refer serious matters to police or state Fair Trading bodies, and recover losses where appropriate. Suspended accounts have a written right of reply.
