Pricing data

Every price range published in our Australian tradie cost guides is a 2026 GST-inclusive average compiled from completed jobs across all eight Australian states and territories, cross-referenced with state Fair Trading guidance and ATO labour-rate data. Ranges are reviewed each quarter and dated on the page. We never publish a single point estimate — only ranges, with the factors that move the price explained on the page itself. See the Australian tradie cost guide pillar for the consolidated rate table.

Licence and regulator data

Licence-class definitions, deposit caps and regulator URLs are taken directly from the public registers maintained by the Australian state and territory authorities:

Business identification

Every Australian Business Number (ABN) on the platform is verified against the Australian Business Register at abr.business.gov.au. Trading-name matches and ABN status are re-checked on a rolling schedule. See how we verify Australian tradies for the full provider verification process.

Location data

Australian suburb, postcode and state boundary data is sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) and Australia Post postcode files. Map and place data on directory pages is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Unclaimed directory profiles built from OpenStreetMap data carry an explicit ODbL attribution and a clear correction link.

Reviews and ratings

Every review on a verified TaskerAsker provider profile is tied to a completed job booked through the platform. We do not import reviews from third parties, do not allow paid reviews and do not display an aggregate rating until at least five verified reviews are on file. Our full review policy is published in the Trust Centre.

Content authoring and editorial review

Cost guides, checklists and Q&A pages are drafted by the TaskerAsker research team and reviewed against the published content policy before going live. Every page is dated; significant updates trigger a refreshed last-updated date. The full editorial process and complaints path is documented in the Trust Centre and Complaints & Resolution policy.

Corrections

Found an error or have a more recent reference? Please use the contact form and we will review and correct it within five business days. Frequently asked questions about our data sources

Where does TaskerAsker get its Australian tradie pricing data?

Every price range published on TaskerAsker is a 2026 GST-inclusive average compiled from completed Australian tradie jobs across all eight states and territories, cross-referenced with state Fair Trading guidance and ATO labour-rate data. Ranges are reviewed each quarter and dated on the page; we never publish a single point estimate, only ranges with the factors that move the price explained on the page.

How often is each dataset on TaskerAsker refreshed?

Pricing data is refreshed quarterly. State licence registers are refreshed monthly. ABN status is re-checked weekly per record against the Australian Business Register. ABS suburb and postcode boundaries are refreshed annually on the ABS release schedule. OpenStreetMap place data is refreshed on a rolling basis. Reviews and ratings update in real time when a verified hire is completed. The full table is published on the data sources page.

Which Australian regulators do you source licence data from?

Licence-class definitions, deposit caps and regulator URLs are taken directly from NSW Fair Trading, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) and Energy Safe Victoria (ESV), Building & Energy / Consumer Protection WA, Consumer & Business Services SA, Consumer Building & Occupational Services Tasmania, Access Canberra, and NT Consumer Affairs.

How does TaskerAsker verify Australian Business Numbers (ABNs)?

Every business that signs up to TaskerAsker must provide an Australian Business Number, which we verify against the Australian Business Register at abr.business.gov.au. The trading-name match and ABN status (active, cancelled, GST status) are re-checked on a rolling weekly schedule, and any business whose ABN becomes inactive is blocked from quoting until they update their record.

Where does the suburb, postcode and map data come from?

Australian suburb, postcode and state boundary data is sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) and the Australia Post postcode files. Map and place data on directory pages is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL); unclaimed directory profiles built from OpenStreetMap data carry an explicit ODbL attribution and a clear correction link.

How do I report an error or request a correction?
